Princess of Rock Jessie Chung Attracts Crowd of 2,000 at First 《Be Strong》World Tour Stop

Shah Alam, 18 December 2016: Having nearly topped two international charts with two second place spots, Princess of Rock Jessie Chung strikes back with the release of her new English album Be Strong! With a series of shows already launched and completed in Malaysia, Jessie is now set to rock the whole world! Last Sunday, her first stop at Shah Alam attracted over 2,000 fans, cramming the Shah Alam Performing Arts Centre all the way to the ceiling!

As fans began to pour into the venue, many realized that there won’t be enough space, but squeezed in nevertheless, filling every available space. Although the organizer has already set up a huge LED screen outdoors so that fans who didn’t get inside could still view the concert live, fervent fans were still willing to be packed like sardines so they could see Princess of Rock Jessie Chung in person. Fans who couldn’t get in, despite still having the opportunity to watch outdoors, expressed their disappointment.

Then show opened with Jessie Chung stepping on stage with a candy red jacket as four blonde-haired dancers joined her to dance to the rhythm. For this world tour, Jessie has done quite a lot of work, especially in choreography. She spent a great deal of time honing her dance moves with her dancers, all in hope of giving her fans the greatest auditory and visual appeal possible. It’s apparent that Jessie isn’t someone who would give a lackluster performance.

At her launching show, Jessie performed ten songs in her albums Be Strong and There You Are, at times mesmerizing the crowd and other times bringing them to their feet. The excitement level of her fans brimmed to a boiling point when she sang her last two songs “I Don’t Care” and “Feel My Love” with an African American accent.

As Jessie Chung moved on to her lead single Be Strong, she told the crowd, “We may stumble and fall, but we cannot stay down. When faced with problems, we should overcome them instead of letting them overcome us. Everybody can Be Strong.” Jessie also expressed that she no longer cares whether people like her or not, she has decided that no matter how people treat her, she will continue to love them, because love is a decision. At the show approached the end, she yelled at the crowd, “Can you feel my love?” As the fans roared back in unison, Jessie completed the show with her hit song “Feel My Love”, an energizing anthem teeming with electro dance beats.

With the great response brought on by the first show, Jessie expresses with excitement, “I get stronger every time I sing, and I hope that friends who are in love with my songs can also be stronger and stronger.” Jessie will be flying to Dongguan for her second show on December 23rd, 2016.

At the end of the concert, Jessie also signed a deal with Janesce Skincare, an Australian corporation, as the official brand ambassador of its natural skincare product line.

JESSIE CHUNG HOLDING STRONG Newly-Crowned "Princess of Rock" Releases Another English Album

Shah Alam, 15 December 2016: Nothing is stopping Jessie Chung from breaking barriers. After the successful debut of her English album There You Are***, she is back with another new album Be Strong in only a few months!

Gary Scallan, CEO of Future Entertainment and Music Group Australia flew all the way to Malaysia to join Darren Choy, managing director of Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore for the Be Strong album launching. Together, they presented her a diamond-studded electric guitar, and put a crown on her to mark her new “Princess of Rock” title.

“We see in Jessie an incredible potential in the pop-rock genre,” said Gary. “Jessie is, and will, become the new-generation Princess of Rock,” he added. Formerly known as “Detox Princess”, Gary believes that Jessie will live up to her new “Princess of Rock” title.

Managing director of Warner Music Malaysia, Darren Choy admires Jessie Chung for not being conformed to the so-called ‘standards’ of society. “She is not afraid to be herself, and that is what fascinates us the most. She made her mark in the music scene by her own hard work, and is now striving towards the pinnacle of her career. Jessie performed astoundingly in the pop-rock scene, and I’m sure she well-deserved the ‘Princess of Rock’ title.” said Darren.

Despite still recovering from sunburns that she got while filming Be Strong music video in the Pinnacles Desert and Lancelin, Australia, Jessie attended the press conference flawlessly, wearing a FaceAward diamond watch, which she has endorsed recently. Jessie couldn’t help but to spill the beans of going braless for the first time, “At that time, I finally overcame my fears by donning a halter top. However, the director wasn’t really satisfied, so he asked me if I was willing to go braless, and I said yes! All for delivering a great music video!” she said.

The thought of going braless never came to her mind before, so she had to be ready on the spot. She didn’t even notify her husband about it. “I really gave the music video my all!” said Jessie.
Fully produced in Australia, Be Strong includes seven tracks and is set to give a new kind of experience to Jessie’s existing and new fans. Aside from 15 showcases in Malaysia alone, Jessie will embark on a world tour to Taiwan, Australia, London, New York, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and other places to promote her latest offering.

Be Strong Tracklist: / 1. Be Strong / 2. Captured My Heart / 3. Forever Young / 4. Possibility / 5. I Don’t Care / 6. Love Is Coming Home / 7. Feel My Love. Two singles Be Strong and Forever Young are released along with the music video on YouTube recently.

***There You Are, Jessie Chung’s album prior to Be Strong, is one of the best-selling albums. Being the only Malaysian to be on Taiwan’s Five Music International Chart, Jessie Chung topped artistes like Sia, Ariana Grande and Celine Dion. She ranked higher than Lady Gaga on Taiwan’s iRadio International Chart. Her music videos exceeded 3 million views on YouTube within 2 months of release.

Jessie Chung Paid High Price During Music Video Filming Medical Attention Required after Severe Sunburns

Perth, 9 December 2016: International recording artiste Jessie Chung is taking over the international music scene by storm! Released back in August, Jessie's debut album There You Are stormed into two of Taiwan's most authoritative and prestigious music charts, taking a top 2 position in Five Music's International Chart and another one in i Radio's International Chart. Jessie Chung ranked above many international artists on Five Music's International Chart, including Sia, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, etc., and placed right next to Lady Gaga. On i Radio's International Chart, Jessie Chung even surpassed Lady Gaga. She is the only Malaysian singer to enter Taiwan's Five Music's International Chart, and to add frosting on the cake—the total music video views on YouTube for Jessie's latest album surpassed 3 million within two months.

There You Are boosted Jessie Chung’s popularity and pushed her sales to unprecedented heights. Seeing potential in her, Jessie’s record label decided to wrap up the production of Be Strong and release it in advance. Be Strong is set to be released on December 15th.

A few days earlier, Jessie Chung journeyed to the shores of Lancelin and the Pinnacles Desert in Cervantes, WA to get her “Be Strong” music video filmed. In the desert sparsely populated by pinnacles—weathered pillars of limestone—Jessie stood under the scorching sun for more than eight hours and even stretched out her body on the sand. At the end of the session, her skin was severely sunburned, and she had to be sent to the hospital to seek medical attention.

Jessie mentioned that before shooting, a staff member reminded her to put on sunscreen and carry out other measures to get adequate protection from the sun. However, she didn’t take any action upon hearing the advice since she was in a rush. She found out afterwards that all personnel had taken some form of protective measure. During filming, the possibility of getting sunburned never occurred to Jessie at all, since a deceptive, chilly breeze blew from all sides. Not until the filming completed did Jessie realize that there was a tingling sensation in her skin. While inspecting, she realized that her skin had started to redden, peel, and swell as a burning sensation erupted throughout her whole body. The staff immediately sent her to the hospital for treatment, and the doctors who treated her told her that her sunburns were dangerously severe, and that it would take a while to heal.

In another scene, Jessie Chung had to brave the waters. “The wind was fierce and unforgiving, and the towering wall of waves rolled in constantly. Standing in the water and getting beaten by the waves soaked me down to the skin. I was so cold my whole body shivered uncontrollably. On a few occasions, I barely got swept away by high waves. Sigh! I thought I’d taken a toil while filming the previous music videos, but this one blew all of them out of the water. I endured many hardships this time, I really feared for my life!”

The director also asked Jessie to run barefoot on the shore. However, the beach’s surface was uneven and hidden with sharp rock fragments and seashells, and Jessie paid the price for the romantic scene. While running on the beach, her feet was slashed by razor-sharp fragments in the sand multiple times, causing her to lose her balance and fall. Her palm and knees were also scratched, and the unbearable pain forced tears out of her eyes.

Afterwards, Jessie saw a few messages left by fans on Facebook, telling her to be careful while staying under the sun. Although the accident had already taken place, she was nevertheless grateful to everyone’s concern for her. Since her sunburned areas will need some time to recover, her schedule would have to be delayed, and she would not be able to meet her fans temporarily.

P.S. December marks the beginning of summer in Australia, which means that the Southern Hemisphere is closer to the sun. “Be Strong” was filmed near the Antarctic area, which has an immense ozone hole above it. Long term exposure to UV radiation without a layer of ozone protection will result in serious consequences, and may even lead to skin cancer. Every year, around 1,200 people die from skin cancer in Australia.

Jessie Chung Cyber-bullied Again Fans Gather to Encourage Her

Shah Alam, 18 November 2016: Jessie Chung, who has just returned back to Malaysia from Taiwan, recently took second place in the most influential and authoritative chart of the Taiwanese music industry, Five Music’s Top 5 Chart for international albums, beating Celine Dion. However, haters, always green with envy, fired nasty remarks at her once again.
To encourage their idol, Jessie Chung International Fan Club cooperated with Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia to organize a fan club meeting to strengthen Jessie in the face of internet trolls. That night, bursting into tears, a touched Jessie divulged her thoughts and feelings of being cyber-bullied and her frequent considerations of giving up, because her career hasn’t always been a breeze.

Jessie Chung also revealed in front of her fans that as a child she’s always been insecure, never having any faith in herself. Ironically, since primary school, her teachers and principals had always encouraged her to go on stage, convincing her to represent the school and sometimes even the whole state of Sarawak in singing competitions. Despite of recent successes and reassurances, such as receiving positive reviews from Taiwanese critic Qiu Da Li and Chinese music judge Lu Shi Wei, and even taking second place on Taiwan’s Five Music chart, Jessie still considers herself inferior to other artists. Luckily, her career survived to this day because of the support and encouragement from her fans.

The vile words used in cyber-bullying against Jessie are quite horrendous and appalling, some users even went to the extent of cursing her directly on Facebook, hurting her feelings and giving her much pain. Although facing cyber-bullying once again, Jessie Chung stated that she felt that her fans’ devotion and love towards her are ever stronger. “I can choose to ignore, pretend that I didn’t see the hateful comments, but you guys are braver than me, you always choose to take them head on and defend me, thank you so much.” When she finished, Jessie couldn’t hold back her tears and began to sob in front of her fans.

In return to the fans’ love and encouragements, Jessie’s Australian record label gave her permission to give her fans a peek at her next album’s costume design and cover, and a preview for her three new singles and one new music video, causing the crowd to boil with excitement.

At the end of the gathering, the organizer also held a “Moonlight Stage Play Parody Contest”, allowing fans to split into groups to act out their own renditions of the stage play originally lead by Jessie. The contest was quite entertaining to watch, and received constant laughs from the audience; the contest also didn’t fail to brighten Jessie’s emotions, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Fans had fun all the way to midnight, finishing the gathering with joy and excitement.

Jessie Chung Receives Outstanding Achievement Award in the Music Industry

Shah Alam, 12 Nov 2016: After wrapping up her radio interviews and launching show in Taiwan, Jessie Chung returned to Malaysia to attend the achievement celebration organized by her record label. Mr. Darren Choy, Managing Director of Warner Music Group Malaysia & Singapore and Chairman of the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia and Mr. Sein Way Tan, Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia representative, presented Jessie with the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Music Industry.

What Jessie Chung has achieved with her album There You Are is nothing short of miraculous, she has done the impossible, for a Malaysian artist at least. Her new album has recently shot right up to the most influential and authoritative chart in the Taiwanese music industry, Five Music, debuting at number two on the Top 5 Chart for international albums. Five Music’s Top 5 Chart is the leading Taiwanese music chart and the only chart in Taiwan solely based on album sales. Jessie is confirmed to be the first Malaysian singer to squeeze into this prestigious chart, overtaking Australian artist Sia, who is currently at third place, and placing right next to Lady Gaga, who is barely ahead by two points. Indeed, her album has placed among the works of elite international stars, and this is just the beginning. As the first Malaysian artist placing in Taiwan’s international chart’s top five, Jessie Chung is no doubt Malaysia’s pride and glory!

There You Are has so far sold more than 10,000 copies, and that is already an amazing feat in its own right. To encourage Jessie to soldier on and put on her best fight in next year’s tight schedule, Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia and Warner Music Malaysia honoured her with the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Music Industry, ensuring that Jessie’s There You Are will soar on to greater heights!

Managing Director of Warner Music Malaysia, Mr. Choy, expressed that Jessie Chung has been doing an incredible job in the music industry, and her accomplishments so far had been universally recognized. Surprisingly, in less than two months, the music videos for Jessie’s singles “There You Are” and “Drive My Heart” both surpassed a million views on YouTube. As for her third single “Someplace Honest”, it reached 800,000 views in merely a little more than a month. At the currently rate, its view count should be able to shatter the million mark sometime next week, the results will surely be even more surprising and awe-inspiring!

In his speech, Mr. Choy also stated that entering into the international English-speaking music scene is a great challenge per se. Many artists, when faced with adversity, choose to back off and give up, but Jessie is different. She has valiantly overcome so many obstacles, and has successfully become the first Chinese Malaysian to enter into the top three positions of an international English chart.

Unfortunately, Gary, the CEO of Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia couldn’t make it to the achievement celebration. To congratulate Jessie on her achievements and efforts so far this year, he recorded a video for everyone at the celebration to watch. In the video, he revealed that Jessie will be flying to South Africa to promote more of her work in February next year, then fly to Europe and North America for further development.

Jessie Chung expressed that she was astonished and touched upon receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Music Industry. Though it’s not an Oscar, it represented her Australian record label and Warner Music Malaysia’s deep love and approval for her, and that means a lot to her. In a self-depreciating joke, she stated that she has been very uncomfortable with her blonde, side swept fringes, and wanted to change her style in the next album. However, her Australian manager insisted for her to keep her blonde hair, since the Taiwanese media is very fond of her golden style. Jessie could do nothing but keep the style at his bidding.

Besides celebrating the astonishing results Jessie and her brand new album has attained, the company also took the chance to appreciate Jessie’s efforts and accomplishments this year. In early 2016, Jessie Chung’s Exquisite Chinese Orchestra Concert had sold out all ten performances in West and East Malaysia and was a hit among the show biz. Her recent stage production Moonlight was also well received by public, and it also had sold out all ten performances around the country. At the same time, a series of campaigns for Jessie in Malaysia and Taiwan were all roaring successes, and launching shows nationwide and abroad, including locations such as Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Penang, and Taipei, Taiwan, were all completed without a hitch. The events received widespread enthusiasm from fans of all places, crowding up the venues on every occasion.

As for future plans, Jessie Chung stated that her record label has arranged for her eighteen launching shows nationwide, and she will be going to South Africa in February to get her work promoted. Also in April next year, she is set to open two solo concerts, and audiences are estimated to amount over a few thousand. Jessie’s schedule is currently full at the moment, she has to rehearse for her new stage play, Music Box, and prepare for the production of her next album; as a result, her record label has decided to push back the plans for her in China.

As for her next album, Jessie has revealed that her Australian director is determined to capture scenes of her standing on top of a light house in her new music video. At this time, she has already recorded three new songs, and she will travel back to Australia to continue recording and filming her new music video. Her next album is set to be released in January next year. During the celebration, the organizers brought the attendees a surprise when they premiered the music video of “Forever Young”, a single from her next album, causing a wave of excitement and shrieks among the crowd!

Finally, the organizer also gave away an iPhone7, Huawei Honor 8, and a Burberry diamond watch to the lucky winners of the music video giveaway contests of Drive My Heart and Someplace Honest. Jessie Chung International Fan Club members also took the opportunity to give Jessie their presents to congratulate her.

Jessie Chung Performs in Sexy Dress at Ximending, Taiwan

Ximending Taipei, 12 November, 2016: Jessie Chung’s brand new album There You Are has recently gone gold in Taiwan, leading to a series of promotional events to reach toward a wider audience. Not only did she get her album endorsed at the album release press conference on October 24th, Jessie Chung also performed at the Taiwan Ximending Launching Show on October 30th, donning a sexy, ebony, see-through dress embroidered with gold. With her full-flowing, lush, golden hair, no wonder the press hailed her as a “Bond girl” look-alike.

Performing four songs at her launching show in Taiwan, she sincerely opened with “There You Are”, a touching ballad, and subsequently drove the crowd wild with “Drive My Heart”, an explosive rock anthem. Her showing off of her new dance moves and the fantastic interaction between her and her male dancers induced the screams and shouts of the Taiwanese fans below the stage.

Her husband Joshua stayed below the stage to accompany her and take pictures of her, causing her much embarrassment when her team of dancers picked her up on stage, but she kept her composure as she beamed a shy smile. Jessie Chung spent more than a year in Australia to prepare for this album; under the plans devised by her Australian record company, she took on the so-called “Bond girl” style, despite her initial fears of the radical change. Changing her hairstyle from blunt bangs to side-swept fringe caused her significant insecurity, and she’s still getting used to it.

Jessie Chung reveals that “There You Are” is dedicated to the two most important men in her life, the memory of her father, and her husband Joshua. She recalls that her father passed away while she was promoting her previous album. Not being able to see her father at his deathbed, Jessie Chung wanted to use this song to thank him. The song is also dedicated to her husband for being besides her at all times. “Spend enough time to appreciate the people around us, that will save us a lot of regret when the final goodbye comes,” she says emotionally when asked about the past.

Besides performing her new songs, Jessie Chung also had great interaction with her fans, giving away James Bond-esque aviator sunglasses and heaps of exclusive heart shaped pillows to give her fans a great experience. While signing autographs, many enthusiastic fans gave Jessie and her team their praises, they were all satisfied by the electrifying event. She states that her first time in Taiwan was an unforgettable experience, and she looks forward to party again with her fans next time. Jessie Chung also reveals that her tight schedule in Taiwan has prevented her from tasting Taiwanese delicacies. She plans to wander through the night market with her husband upon completing the launching show and have an authentic taste of Taiwanese cuisine.

After changing her gender identity, Jessie Chung has received a fair amount of cyber-bullying. Even till this day, ignorant netizens still attempt to verbally abuse her, such as questioning her singing talents. Regarding these criticisms, Jessie has shrugged them off and said, “The fact that whether or not I sing well is decided by my fans; as long as my fans like it, that’s enough for me; as long as they like it, that makes me happy and content.”  Jessie Chung states, “Although I feel hurt, these harsh criticisms only make me stronger and allow me to stand up and prove my motivation.” She’s very optimistic, and believes that words of encouragement and constructive criticisms alike are all helpful to her, as long as the words are spoken with sincerity.
