Princess of Rock Jessie Chung Attracts Crowd of 2,000 at First 《Be Strong》World Tour Stop

Shah Alam, 18 December 2016: Having nearly topped two international charts with two second place spots, Princess of Rock Jessie Chung strikes back with the release of her new English album Be Strong! With a series of shows already launched and completed in Malaysia, Jessie is now set to rock the whole world! Last Sunday, her first stop at Shah Alam attracted over 2,000 fans, cramming the Shah Alam Performing Arts Centre all the way to the ceiling!

As fans began to pour into the venue, many realized that there won’t be enough space, but squeezed in nevertheless, filling every available space. Although the organizer has already set up a huge LED screen outdoors so that fans who didn’t get inside could still view the concert live, fervent fans were still willing to be packed like sardines so they could see Princess of Rock Jessie Chung in person. Fans who couldn’t get in, despite still having the opportunity to watch outdoors, expressed their disappointment.

Then show opened with Jessie Chung stepping on stage with a candy red jacket as four blonde-haired dancers joined her to dance to the rhythm. For this world tour, Jessie has done quite a lot of work, especially in choreography. She spent a great deal of time honing her dance moves with her dancers, all in hope of giving her fans the greatest auditory and visual appeal possible. It’s apparent that Jessie isn’t someone who would give a lackluster performance.

At her launching show, Jessie performed ten songs in her albums Be Strong and There You Are, at times mesmerizing the crowd and other times bringing them to their feet. The excitement level of her fans brimmed to a boiling point when she sang her last two songs “I Don’t Care” and “Feel My Love” with an African American accent.

As Jessie Chung moved on to her lead single Be Strong, she told the crowd, “We may stumble and fall, but we cannot stay down. When faced with problems, we should overcome them instead of letting them overcome us. Everybody can Be Strong.” Jessie also expressed that she no longer cares whether people like her or not, she has decided that no matter how people treat her, she will continue to love them, because love is a decision. At the show approached the end, she yelled at the crowd, “Can you feel my love?” As the fans roared back in unison, Jessie completed the show with her hit song “Feel My Love”, an energizing anthem teeming with electro dance beats.

With the great response brought on by the first show, Jessie expresses with excitement, “I get stronger every time I sing, and I hope that friends who are in love with my songs can also be stronger and stronger.” Jessie will be flying to Dongguan for her second show on December 23rd, 2016.

At the end of the concert, Jessie also signed a deal with Janesce Skincare, an Australian corporation, as the official brand ambassador of its natural skincare product line.

JESSIE CHUNG HOLDING STRONG Newly-Crowned "Princess of Rock" Releases Another English Album

Shah Alam, 15 December 2016: Nothing is stopping Jessie Chung from breaking barriers. After the successful debut of her English album There You Are***, she is back with another new album Be Strong in only a few months!

Gary Scallan, CEO of Future Entertainment and Music Group Australia flew all the way to Malaysia to join Darren Choy, managing director of Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore for the Be Strong album launching. Together, they presented her a diamond-studded electric guitar, and put a crown on her to mark her new “Princess of Rock” title.

“We see in Jessie an incredible potential in the pop-rock genre,” said Gary. “Jessie is, and will, become the new-generation Princess of Rock,” he added. Formerly known as “Detox Princess”, Gary believes that Jessie will live up to her new “Princess of Rock” title.

Managing director of Warner Music Malaysia, Darren Choy admires Jessie Chung for not being conformed to the so-called ‘standards’ of society. “She is not afraid to be herself, and that is what fascinates us the most. She made her mark in the music scene by her own hard work, and is now striving towards the pinnacle of her career. Jessie performed astoundingly in the pop-rock scene, and I’m sure she well-deserved the ‘Princess of Rock’ title.” said Darren.

Despite still recovering from sunburns that she got while filming Be Strong music video in the Pinnacles Desert and Lancelin, Australia, Jessie attended the press conference flawlessly, wearing a FaceAward diamond watch, which she has endorsed recently. Jessie couldn’t help but to spill the beans of going braless for the first time, “At that time, I finally overcame my fears by donning a halter top. However, the director wasn’t really satisfied, so he asked me if I was willing to go braless, and I said yes! All for delivering a great music video!” she said.

The thought of going braless never came to her mind before, so she had to be ready on the spot. She didn’t even notify her husband about it. “I really gave the music video my all!” said Jessie.
Fully produced in Australia, Be Strong includes seven tracks and is set to give a new kind of experience to Jessie’s existing and new fans. Aside from 15 showcases in Malaysia alone, Jessie will embark on a world tour to Taiwan, Australia, London, New York, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and other places to promote her latest offering.

Be Strong Tracklist: / 1. Be Strong / 2. Captured My Heart / 3. Forever Young / 4. Possibility / 5. I Don’t Care / 6. Love Is Coming Home / 7. Feel My Love. Two singles Be Strong and Forever Young are released along with the music video on YouTube recently.

***There You Are, Jessie Chung’s album prior to Be Strong, is one of the best-selling albums. Being the only Malaysian to be on Taiwan’s Five Music International Chart, Jessie Chung topped artistes like Sia, Ariana Grande and Celine Dion. She ranked higher than Lady Gaga on Taiwan’s iRadio International Chart. Her music videos exceeded 3 million views on YouTube within 2 months of release.

Jessie Chung Paid High Price During Music Video Filming Medical Attention Required after Severe Sunburns

Perth, 9 December 2016: International recording artiste Jessie Chung is taking over the international music scene by storm! Released back in August, Jessie's debut album There You Are stormed into two of Taiwan's most authoritative and prestigious music charts, taking a top 2 position in Five Music's International Chart and another one in i Radio's International Chart. Jessie Chung ranked above many international artists on Five Music's International Chart, including Sia, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, etc., and placed right next to Lady Gaga. On i Radio's International Chart, Jessie Chung even surpassed Lady Gaga. She is the only Malaysian singer to enter Taiwan's Five Music's International Chart, and to add frosting on the cake—the total music video views on YouTube for Jessie's latest album surpassed 3 million within two months.

There You Are boosted Jessie Chung’s popularity and pushed her sales to unprecedented heights. Seeing potential in her, Jessie’s record label decided to wrap up the production of Be Strong and release it in advance. Be Strong is set to be released on December 15th.

A few days earlier, Jessie Chung journeyed to the shores of Lancelin and the Pinnacles Desert in Cervantes, WA to get her “Be Strong” music video filmed. In the desert sparsely populated by pinnacles—weathered pillars of limestone—Jessie stood under the scorching sun for more than eight hours and even stretched out her body on the sand. At the end of the session, her skin was severely sunburned, and she had to be sent to the hospital to seek medical attention.

Jessie mentioned that before shooting, a staff member reminded her to put on sunscreen and carry out other measures to get adequate protection from the sun. However, she didn’t take any action upon hearing the advice since she was in a rush. She found out afterwards that all personnel had taken some form of protective measure. During filming, the possibility of getting sunburned never occurred to Jessie at all, since a deceptive, chilly breeze blew from all sides. Not until the filming completed did Jessie realize that there was a tingling sensation in her skin. While inspecting, she realized that her skin had started to redden, peel, and swell as a burning sensation erupted throughout her whole body. The staff immediately sent her to the hospital for treatment, and the doctors who treated her told her that her sunburns were dangerously severe, and that it would take a while to heal.

In another scene, Jessie Chung had to brave the waters. “The wind was fierce and unforgiving, and the towering wall of waves rolled in constantly. Standing in the water and getting beaten by the waves soaked me down to the skin. I was so cold my whole body shivered uncontrollably. On a few occasions, I barely got swept away by high waves. Sigh! I thought I’d taken a toil while filming the previous music videos, but this one blew all of them out of the water. I endured many hardships this time, I really feared for my life!”

The director also asked Jessie to run barefoot on the shore. However, the beach’s surface was uneven and hidden with sharp rock fragments and seashells, and Jessie paid the price for the romantic scene. While running on the beach, her feet was slashed by razor-sharp fragments in the sand multiple times, causing her to lose her balance and fall. Her palm and knees were also scratched, and the unbearable pain forced tears out of her eyes.

Afterwards, Jessie saw a few messages left by fans on Facebook, telling her to be careful while staying under the sun. Although the accident had already taken place, she was nevertheless grateful to everyone’s concern for her. Since her sunburned areas will need some time to recover, her schedule would have to be delayed, and she would not be able to meet her fans temporarily.

P.S. December marks the beginning of summer in Australia, which means that the Southern Hemisphere is closer to the sun. “Be Strong” was filmed near the Antarctic area, which has an immense ozone hole above it. Long term exposure to UV radiation without a layer of ozone protection will result in serious consequences, and may even lead to skin cancer. Every year, around 1,200 people die from skin cancer in Australia.
